Don't make your niche too
broad, it wouldn't be a niche then! Take "dogs" for example.
It is almost a meaningless search phrase as it is far too broad. Unless
your product is suitable for ALL dogs and you are prepared to optimize
your site for what is going to be an extremely competitive search term
then leave it alone.
Drill down for less
competitive, (more specific), key phrases such as boxer dog, studded dog
collar etc. A lot of 3 and 4 word key phrases can be referred to as
"low hanging fruit" in as much as they are easily picked. Find
suitable phrases in a profitable niche and you are half way to running a
successful Internet home based business.
You will have to learn how to
do effective keyword analysis and competition research. Being able to
spot valuable keywords and know if you can knock a competitors page off it's
listing in Google are skills that will make you rich. You will need to find
1'st, 2'nd and 3'rd tier key phrases and optimize your website accordingly.
On page and off page SEO has
to be learned and mastered. Link mastery is an ongoing process to be
worked on every single day.
Write articles - lots of
them! You will either have to do it yourself, (don't freak! It's easy),
or pay someone to write articles for you. There is a certain way to
